OTCF research grants

The objective of OTCF grants is to encourage orthopedic trauma surgeons and basic scientists by providing seed funding for research in the field of orthopedic trauma surgery. The subjects targeted for 2018 applications are: 

• Assessment of surgical patient selection post-trauma and post-traumatic psychosocial recovery strategies
• Evaluation of physical and patient-reported outcome measures
• Programmatic rehabilitative approaches to optimize post-operative patient outcomes following fracture treatment.
• Articular recovery following injury: maintenance of chondrocyte health, importance of articular joint surface restoration, and technological tools to achieve and assess articular reduction
• Optimization of geriatric patient outcomes following fragility fractures

Funding: $50,000
Duration: 2 years

Please note: a trauma or orthopedic surgeon must serve as either the principal or coprincipal investigator.
